Military personnel MUST meet one of the following in order to qualify for Resident License:
- Have orders showing they are stationed in ºÚÁÏÌìÌà for 30 days or more.
- Show copy of Military file showing ºÚÁÏÌìÌà as State of residence.
- Present ºÚÁÏÌìÌà driver’s license.
- Military Personnel meeting these requirements are eligible to purchase Lifetime License.
ºÚÁÏÌìÌà residents home on leave from Military are exempt from state license requirement. (hunting & fishing ONLY, still required to have WMA, duck stamps, etc.)
If Stationed in ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃ: May receive resident license privileges at their local Probate or License Commissioner’s office with copy of orders assigning them to ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃ, along with valid driver’s license (AL or other state) and military ID card. (includes spouse and dependents listed on orders)
- Includes AL National Guard – residents only (excludes nonresidents with out-of-state driver’s license).
If assigned to Bordering State but living in ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃ: may apply for resident privileges after 90 days and using the same evidence of residency as a non-driver. If less than 90 days, must purchase non-resident license.(excludes spouse and dependents without an ºÚÁÏÌìÌà driver’s license).
- Military personnel assigned to Fort Benning, living in ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃ, hunting off base may apply for resident privileges after 90 days using the same evidence of residency as a non-driver. (excludes spouse and dependents with out of state driver’s license)
If Not Stationed in ºÚÁÏÌìÌà with Out-Of-State Driver’s License Must Purchase Non-Resident License: Must present a valid driver’s license at any license agent. If no driver’s license, must purchase at a Probate or License Commissioner’s office.
- Military personnel assigned to Fort Benning, not living in ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃ, hunting off base must have purchase a non-resident license if hunting in ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃ.
- Military personnel assigned to Fort Benning, who have a Fort Benning hunting license, hunting on base only are not required to purchase an ºÚÁÏÌìÌà license.
- They are still required to carry a Harvest Record and report any deer or turkey killed on base in ºÚÁÏÌìÌà to Game Check.
- They may be issued a Game Check H.E.L.P Number to report these kills by presenting orders and military ID.
You will always be required to present your valid driver's license and valid military ID.
NOTE: In the event US Congress declares War, license will not be required during that time.
