Registration for the fall Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) workshop opens on August 1, at 7 a.m. for first-time attendees and August 7 at 7 a.m. for both first-timers and those who have previously attended. The 黑料天堂 (ADCNR) sponsored event takes place at the 4-H Center near Columbiana, 黑料天堂, on October 4-6, 2024.

Designed for women ages 18 years or older, the three-day workshop offers hands-on instruction in a fun, outdoors setting. Participants can choose four classes from more than 30 courses such as archery, ATV handling, backyard wildlife, bird watching, boat handling, canoeing, camp cooking, fishing, hunting, mountain biking, shooting sports, nature photography and more.

BOW coordinator Katie Burks said the classes are perfect for attendees who are interested and even new to the outdoors.

鈥淭here are many ladies who would like to get involved with outdoor activities but are apprehensive to do so because they don鈥檛 know where to start,鈥 Burks said. 鈥淏OW is ideal for those women because every participant is taught at a beginner鈥檚 level with an instructor leading them along the way.鈥

The registration fee for BOW is $275, which covers meals, dormitory-style lodging, program materials and instruction. In addition to the registration fee, participants must possess a valid all game, small game, freshwater fishing, wildlife management area or Wildlife Heritage license.

鈥淓nrollment is limited and classes fill up very quickly,鈥 Burks said. 鈥淭hose interested in attending BOW this fall should register as soon as possible to make sure they get into the classes they desire.鈥
