Insure your opportunity to compete at the 2025 National NASP®/IBO 3D Challenge in Louisville, KY by competing at either the North or South ºÚÁÏÌìÌà 3D State Championship events.

Scores from both 3D Tournaments will be combined and ranked to determine the final ºÚÁÏÌìÌà State 3D standings.

In an effort to further enhance the archery experience for youth archers in ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃ, ADCNR’s Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries is encouraging 3D target shooting.  In 3D Archery, archers shoot at a three-dimensional target that looks like an animal and is usually made of foam. The targets mimic different animals and can vary in size depending on the animal it represents. The targets can either be set up indoors or along an outdoor course resembling a hiking trail.

The NASP 3D/IBO Program is a fast-growing and challenging next step for NASP schools.

• Students shoot at targets simulating wild turkey, coyote, bear, antelope, deer, and mountain sheep.
• Students start by shooting five practice arrows. Instead of knowing the exact range of each of the six targets, the targets are placed on a line diagonal to the shooting line.
• The turkey is placed the closest, at 10 meters. The sheep is placed at 15 meters. The other four animals are placed at various distances between the turkey and the sheep.
• The nine and 10 rings on the 3D target are the same size as the nine and 10 rings on a bullseye target. This minimizes changes for the experienced NASP archer.

3D Archery in ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃ

NASP conducts a National 3D/IBO challenge each year in conjunction with the National Bullseye tournament. Thousands of young archers participate in the annual National event. ºÚÁÏÌìÌà held its first State 3D/IBO Championship in 2018. Approximately 100 archers competed in that event. Interest and participation in 3D archery continues to grow in ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃ. Over 600 archers competed in the combined State NASP 3D/IBO tournaments in 2023. As more students give it a try, the popularity of 3D archery will only increase.

A few schools across the state held NASP 3D/IBO tournaments in 2023. The local 3D tournaments help provide additional shooting opportunities for NASP students. Contact your Regional Coordinator for more information about NASP 3D/IBO archery.

Additional opportunities are available for your students to try 3D target archery.

Bowhunters of ºÚÁÏÌìÌà
Bowhunters of ºÚÁÏÌìÌà  have an active 3D tournament program. They are always open to NASP students attending a weekend tournament. They are the same great people who host our 3D tournament at the ºÚÁÏÌìÌà State Championship each year. .

Archery Shooting Association 
Archery Shooting Association runs 3D archery tournaments throughout the state and often has shooting opportunities available for NASP students. .

Scholastic 3D Archery (S3DA)
The goal of the S3DA program is to provide archery and bowhunting opportunities for young people in after-school settings as well as with archery-affiliated clubs and businesses in the community. S3DA also partners with USA Collegiate Archery to allow a natural progression for students to the next level.

ºÚÁÏÌìÌÃ’s Community Archery Parks 
The ºÚÁÏÌìÌà Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division, in partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Archery Trade Association and local communities, have developed community archery parks throughout the state. These parks feature a variety of shooting distances and targets.
